Frequently Asked

FAQs

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Most advanced treatments require a consultation so we can assess your skin, discuss your concerns and create an appropriate treatment plan. Some treatments may be available without a separate consultation where clinically appropriate.

Can I have my consultation and treatment on the same day?

For some treatments, yes. This depends on the treatment, your suitability and whether any pre-treatment preparation is required. If you are hoping for same-day treatment, please let us know when booking.

Is the consultation fee redeemable?

The SKINMENU Consultation is £150, with £50 redeemable against treatment booked within three months. Virtual consultation fees are non-redeemable.

What happens during The SKINMENU Consultation?

Your consultation is a comprehensive assessment of your skin, concerns and goals. We’ll discuss your treatment options and create a personalised plan, which may include skincare, lasers, injectables or a combination of treatments.

Are your lasers suitable for darker skin tones?

We offer laser treatments that can be safely used across all skin tones when appropriately selected and tailored. Your skin type, concern and individual risk factors will determine which technology is most suitable.

How many laser sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your concern and treatment. Some patients notice improvement after one session, while concerns such as pigmentation, acne scarring and redness usually benefit from a course of treatments.

Will I still look natural after injectables?

Yes. Our approach is focused on subtle, natural-looking results that complement your features rather than changing them.

What is the difference between skin boosters and polynucleotides?

Skin boosters primarily improve hydration and skin quality, while polynucleotides focus on supporting skin repair and regeneration. Your practitioner can recommend which is more appropriate for your skin.

Can you create a skincare routine for me?

Yes. Every SKINMENU Consultation includes a tailored skincare regime curated around your skin, concerns and goals. Your plan may include medical-grade and prescription skincare where appropriate, with recommended products available to purchase at your appointment.

Can I buy skincare from SKINMENU

Yes. We stock a curated selection of  skincare in clinic, which can be purchased during your consultation. You can also shop many of our recommended products online through the SKINSHOP. Prescription skincare requires an appropriate consultation before purchase.

Do I need to stop my skincare before treatment?

Certain active ingredients will need to be paused before lasers, peels or other procedures. You’ll be given specific preparation instructions based on your treatment.

Can I wear makeup to my appointment?

Where possible, we recommend arriving without makeup, particularly for your SKINMENU Consultation, as makeup can interfere with accurate skin analysis. If needed, we can absolutely remove your makeup in clinic before your consultation or treatment. Depending on your treatment, you may also be advised to avoid makeup for a period afterwards.

Can I have treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

We do not offer aesthetic treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding. You are still welcome to book a consultation, where we can assess your skin and create a tailored pregnancy or breastfeeding-safe skincare regime to support your skin during this time.

Can I exercise after treatment?

This depends on your treatment. Some procedures require you to avoid strenuous exercise, heat or sweating temporarily. Your practitioner will provide personalised aftercare.

Can I have treatment before a holiday or special event?

Yes, but timing matters. We recommend planning treatments in advance so any downtime has settled and to account for sun exposure where relevant.

How do I book an appointment?

Appointments can be booked through our online booking portal.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Cancellations or reschedules made within 48 hours incur a £50 fee, and those made within 24 hours incur a £100 fee. A £100 fee also applies to no-shows. Where applicable, the payment card held on file may be charged.

How long do I have to use a treatment package?

Treatment packages must be completed within six months of the first appointment.

Can I request a specific practitioner?

Yes. You can select your preferred practitioner when booking, subject to availability.
